Ignoring isn't really a full solution Doug. It just shifts the responsibility of actually dealing with bad behavior onto those who don't ignore it.
Probably over three quarters of CYP shareholders would vote for a replacement to Ross Macdonald as CEO if there was a credible alternative but the forums in which shareholders can communicate with each other to discuss credible alternatives are turned into sewers of short term narcissistic self interest.
Philby almost moans about who controls social media (at least I'm reading it as a moan he doesn't seem happy about it) but didn't he change sides to vote with Ross when a proposition to have email addresses available (so a means of communicating with other shareholders on terms about as easy as the directors could) was almost on the table?
Quite separate to the value in companies there are other values that are needed to make communities and societies work - and dealing with bad behavior (as opposed to ignoring it) is necessary or bad behavior enjoys a payday.
Like it or not there is inevitably a moral side as well as financial side to being a part of a community or any sort and ignoring might be enough for the financial side in the short term but if moral responsibilities to oppose bad behavior aren't accepted by enough of the group then the bad behavior takes over.
