Portfolio balancing is when institutions have certain set percentages of shreholdings they hold in certain corporations or industries. They do this according to the strategy or target they have set or for efficieny purposes if they are looking at betas or following the otpimum market theory. Anyway basically institutions would have bought shares so that their holdings represented the same percentage with the diltuion that occured leading to an increased market cap.

Personally, don't think this is true at all as they would have recevied the entitelment offer if they were holding the stock and this is something that happens all the time. Whenever the market share of a company increases you rebalance your portfolio after a set growth percentage is met otherwise you would be balancing your portfolio with every price movement. Anyway im blabbering on now, doubt insto balancing is the cause for the price jump, usually markets hate any sort of unknown and now that the share offering is successfully completed the market would have liked the diminshing of this unknown and hence the slight rise in share price a
