I don't think I'm being unfair with Nathan. He's been spruiking FDV at every opportunity (podcast, presentation). I've nothing against making the case for a speccie and getting it wrong. If you are not losing money every now and then you are not trying hard enough.
My gripe is his blind obsession with this stock which he included in every Intelligent Investors Funds! How can you justify adding a stock which doesn't even turn a profit in an income fund?!
It's also included in their latest Global Value Fund! Really out of ten of thousands of international stocks you pick FDV?
He holds the stock since IPO, has a special relationship with Shaun and is privy to insider information. Between his own personal holdings, the II funds holdings and the II subscribers holdings what would happen if he changed his mind on such a small illiquid stock? He can't. He's in too deep. He can only pray for a miracle.
The right thing to do would be to let another II analyst with no skin in the game have a look. Unless someone forces his hand it's unlikely to happen.
