I agree that most people are better off with funds. The only way you know whether you are one of those people is to track an accumulation index alongside the accumulation index of your portfolio. If your portfolio index is not beating the accumulation index, then you know it is time to hang up your boots. If you don't keep accurate data on your own performance, you really don't know.
