If I have any more children, they will be nudged in the direction of becoming "private debt and alternate asset managers", as Causeway has received a nice little payday of $75K for their services. This figure, along with the 2% establishment fee for this funding brings the cost of the $3M to $135K before any interest is paid, if it is all drawn down. Finance is definitely not cheap.
The additional $1M acquisition facility has me scratching my head, wondering what else our esteemed leader has in mind to purchase. My thoughts were that perhaps the company should start selling something prior to spending money we don't have. Am I too conservative in that regard? Having access to growth capital is all well and good, but for mine, our various stakeholders, whoever they may be, would surely have more confidence in the company if they saw we had a product the market was willing to pay for, rather than an ability to borrow money for acceleration of the numerous growth initiatives we apparently have had for the last few years.
One can only hope the substantial increase in working capital requirements, due to the recent acquisition of Tankweld, will see a corresponding increase, with interest, of incoming capital, rather than solely for the benefit of execution of Parkway projects.
At least we may all feel safe in the knowledge that there are now enough funds to reward our hard-working board and CEO for the foreseeable future.
I understand the need for this funding, though the timing is not great as far as I am concerned.
Of course, these are my opinions, just sharing them fwiw.
