I've been reading this is a big issue, but am also involved in the electricity industry. I see other mines in Australia installing solar farms, with storage, to power their infrastructure. Is this not a practicable solution? Yes it has a long lead time, but so do long powerlines. So I'd have thought it would be faster to just built a solar farm. I take it that this is being considered as an obvious option but haven't heard of how the comparison sits?
