I'd say the demerger consideration is so CDM can lock in their performance fees, rather than risk it falling.A one asset LIC, with a very small holding of their asset at that, and with the low market cap it would have, would likely trade at a decent discount to NTA.
No purpose except management fee certainty IMO.
