Hi Scarpa a couple of points if I may.
Firstly the Bok Choy didn't have any soil it was a Hydro test where the roots are in liquid as per the announcement. It was supplied with industry standard fertilisers as per the ann.
I made the call that under hydro conditions I would have been happy with a 5% increase in yield. I will never understand the market reaction to that announcement!

Yield is measured by weight so IMO regardless of the head size there was a 300% increase in grain yield according to Monash.
Grain producers want yield not plant mass as it can be more difficult to harvest.

Plant mass would be a great thing for those making cereal hay and there is a massive market for that also.
I agree growing conditions in the big wide world will be different but it will be the same for all the plants just like in the green house trials.

It seems there are heaps of trials currently underway some of which the results would not be too far off one would have thought. AIMO DB
