If they patent a processing technique and then as the relevance of Rubidum (and similar minerals) becomes increasingly key in the market, then EMC is in a solid position to share that tech with others for a small royalty. This is potentially very lucrative over the next few years.

Market is dead at moment and even if it wasn't, this is not the usual announcement that gets everyone frothing at the bit, as it is "boring" on the surface, but in reality, it is a very solid announcement.

Certainly a few good things in the mix.
