As someone who has worked with viruses, surrogate testing is normal and accepted by industry. This result is POSITIVE and it doesnt matter what anyone says really. This is industry practice....and so HCT have followed industry principles.
Testing on COVID itself is at a normal lab is not possible. It is so highly contagious and we still actually dont know much about it.

Note that in this morning announcement it will be tested at the CDC. This is a single lab in the US set up to deal with stuff like Ebola.

Whoever thought the test was on actual COVID itself is just plain crazy to be honest.
