Why AB1? Why another deal?
Gaming is hot! Artificial Intelligence is hot! BlockChain is hot! Machine Learning is hot! Crypto Currency is hot! AB1 claims to have top shelf competencies in these hot sectors of the world economy. AB1 has done a masterful job of crafting a narrative that would lead the unsuspecting investor to believe that AB1 is working on some game changing projects focused on a combination of all those hot sectors. AB1 is a Pseudo-UNICORN!
Seriously, most gaming companies with with PR departments as good or better than Animoca have already found themselves an owner. The $1 Million from "Sing My Ka-ching" should be viewed as a speculative bet (as opposed to a high conviction bet) by that firm. They could care less if AB1 closed shop tomorrow. Think of this as Peter Thiel writing a $500,000 check to Mark Zukerberg. Had Facebook failed, Peter Thiel would have no regrets about his investment.
