It’s interesting timing for the article. Qenos entered voluntary administration almost two weeks ago.
For those who may not be aware, Qenos filed an application with the Anti-Dumping Commission in 2019, with Pact Group being named as an importer. Clearly, Qenos and Pact Group haven’t had the most friendly of relationships. It’s rather strange that the AFR article fails to mention this history.
There is an article titled “Pact Group cleared of dumping charges by Qenos” dated November 4, 2019. In the article, Ruffy Geminder was quoted as stating, “I feel sorry for Qenos because it was being squeezed between falling raw material prices and rising domestic gas prices, and it is producing the material in a subscale plant in Australia."
