European and Asian hospitals choose Australian-invented technology
Following its success in winning six Irish hospital contracts for its Australian-developed MediScan®
technology, Polartechnics has achieved international sales in the competitive United Kingdom and
Singapore medical sectors.
In the UK, MediScan® medical imaging and monitoring systems are being installed in Whittington
Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, Walgrove Hospital and Portland Hospital and three of Singapore’s
largest teaching hospitals - KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore General Hospital and the
National University Hospital – have also installed MediScan®.
Polartechnics’ Chief Executive Officer Victor Skladnev said: “We are immensely proud of
Polartechnics’ award-winning, innovative medical technology and it is very rewarding to see the
international market, particularly prestigious hospitals, choosing MediScan® ahead of our competitors’
products.
Commenting on the sales revenue of all Polartechnics’ products, Mr Skladnev said: “We achieved
almost half of FY04’s last year’s total sales revenue in the recent September quarter and we are on
track to continue the healthy sales uptick.”
Earlier this year, Polartechnics won two highly competitive international tenders to supply MediScan®
for the Dublin Hospital colposcopy project and the Galway regional hospitals’ colposcopy project. At
the launch of the installations, Irish Health Minister Micheál Martin TD said that Polartechnics had a
very good product and that he hoped the Irish contracts would serve as reference points for
Polartechnics to win business throughout Europe.
“The successful Irish hospital reference points delivered exactly what we wanted,” said Mr Skladnev.
“The MediScan® installations quickly showed positive administrative and clinical results and
generated interest from other potential buyers. Referrals from satisfied customers are critical to our
marketing campaigns and seeing new technology working effectively in the hospital environment is an
added bonus,” he said.

stops patients slipping through the safety net of clinical care
