I guess I am being naive. While I work for an ASX listed company, If Im briefed on confidential information I don't go blabbing it to my friends and family. I respect the confidentiality in the spirit it was shared with me (and believe me, Ive had some pretty high level information shared with me), plus it would be pretty obvious where the information came from so id get my butt kicked if I did. I wouldn't do it anyway regardless of how tempting it might be, its unethical and where I work, ethics mean everything.
Call me what you want, and I know you weren't being nasty in your reply, I just hate it though when its expected that people will do the wrong thing and not respect the fact that privileged information was shared with them.
Anyway, we will know what the deal is this week. In the meantime, and interesting article published online this weekend
