    Under Chapter 17 of the ASX Listing Rules (and ASX Market Rule 16.4.2), "a trading halt can be applied for a period not exceeding the commencement of normal trading on the second trading day following the day on which it is requested". If the announcement (or whatever the trading halt is for) is not made by this time, the ASX then suspends the securities from quotation at the company's request. The ASX cannot suspend from official quotation until the trading halt has ended.
