Who is the unnamed international corporation looking to takeover Quintis?
Frank Wilson resigned this week as Quintis's managing director, saying he had been approached "by a well-funded, credible party" that was looking to take control of the company.
"It is my intention to fully assess this confidential approach unencumbered by my duties and responsibilities as managing director," he said.
Quintis informed the ASX that it was not aware of the identity of the international corporation which had approached Mr Wilson.
However media speculation and the gossip around Kununurra, is that the global investment firm KKR is working on the takeover and wants Frank Wilson on board.
KKR already has a taste for the Indian sandalwood industry, with a controlling interest in Santanol, the second biggest sandalwood company operating in the Ord Irrigation Scheme.
Santanol manages around 2,200 hectares of Indian sandalwood in the Ord and has long been seen as a competitor to TFS (Quintis).
Could the two companies which dominate the Ord Valley landscape become one?
The community of Kununurra watches on.
