I don't have a problem in principle with acquisitions, but it's hard to see how this will have a positive impact on the share price or deliver shareholder value if the CR is to be done via placement.
The share price is just too low, and will require another 1.5-2 billion shares to be issued. It might be a case of "big deal" seeing as we already have 6.2b on issue but if that is bumped up to 8b it makes consolidation a certainty in the medium term.
