As far as I know, nobody on the planet has ever mentioned the amount of "$1bn net" for Barrambie.

I would also add that the article you're referring to has been edited since the link was posted yesterday, so if you're only reading it for the first time today it's not surprising you are struggling to understand what people are talking about. In the original piece there were specific values published of the resources in-situ and how the author arrived at his conclusions (x times y = z-type stuff).
