Sparx918 - I think the half million dollars is just a penalty (probably included in the contract for non compliance). It is not compensation as such. MXC is still chasing damages of up to $8mil. That seems to be getting lost in the conversation at the moment.
ASX can't do much investigation as they are a private company - and they would have stepped in earlier if they felt MXC had mislead the market. MXC entered into the agreement in good faith so there are no issues there. ASIC - not sure where that comes from. MXC did not enter into a corrupt enterprise.
