Unfortunately, FOMO, is a driver for continually having to jump into bed with the Chinese, they'll buy high grade all day over run of mill.
Having dealt with the Chinese, there's always two deals, the deal you think you have and their idea of the deal. As they hold the cash, everyone bows to the "revised" rules, for FOMO.
Anyone with gonads and is prepared to tell them how is it is, or we walk away and supply someone else, earns respect and a contract for life.
Walk in and fold to their ideals, the shafting begins and they screw you into the ground, for as long as it takes to break you.
It appears all producers have had this FOMO and taken what's on offer.
Seriously, if the Auz companies did form an alliance and cut production, taking control of how and when the product was dispatched, I'm very confident we'd see a turn around in the Li price quick smart.
Reality..... it won't happen, producers are shite scared of missing out! Missing out on what? I have no idea!
better to go care and maintenance, than continue to produce a product you can't sell profitability or afford to have it sitting around in a stock pile, where quality deteriorates and you get penalised for supplying sub standard product.
The ironic thing is, from what I'm reading, car manufacturers are gonads out either almost setup to produce or producing EVs. Clearly requiring batteries. Who or what do we believe with this market. Car manufacturers are committed and it's all go, battery makers are all woe...... And Li producers and shareholders are getting burnt in the middle!
From my memory, I understood there's other countries (battery manufacturing) that's other countries, not only one country in the world who have the capabilities to use Li......
I can also remember, what happens when you have all your eggs in one basket!
