Mate, try to read and interpret not by the words itself, but by the action and intention of the parties. Action speaks louder than words...

It is being "requested" to be put on trading halt as there are inquires that ASX requested to be answered. Had ASX not requested that, then why would ER1 want to put on trading halt?

please note ASX is not inquiring about substantial price movement which is ordinary, but ASX is asking questions and ER1 is not disclosing what the exact question is... so who is more suspicious in here? Besides, ER1 did poorly in explaining those numbers, it made little effort in explaining the validity of it. So in essence, it is quite right and normal to question about the validity and accuracy of those information which would otherwise be interpreted as sending misleading information.

So is it a voluntary trading halt?
