If two weeks is enough time to iron out technical issues - which we are assuming to be substantial, but without factual basis yet because nobody here is identifying themselves as an insider with actual first hand knowledge - then it might mitigate the fallout somewhat. There is some advantage to preparing for and expecting the worst and then receiving a largely-solved problem at the end.
On the flipside, letting rumours run rife for a full fortnight is hugely damaging for any business. Claims are already being made here and elsewhere as if they are authoritative, when we’ve no way of knowing yet without transparency on the part of the company or the claim-makers. This is why we need financial journalism and fearless reporting. Dealing with things head on is usually advisable. Delay breeds distrust and a slow grind of gossip will further diminish corporate reputation.
