Remember it is firmly within the French sphere of influence (the Frogs having supplied the man with weapons and consolidate power, enabling him to be the longest serving non-royal head of state on the planet). France remains the largest foreign investor in the country and they aren't particularly anamoured with Beijing. This is not the DRC nor is Biya as easily influenced as Kabila. The old french colonies are perversely more Francophile then the French, something which the Chinese will find hard to dislodge.
