Yeah the 2nd biggest public holiday in North American calendar (after Christmas), I am personally at odds with that excuse (sounds like the 'Dog ate my homework'-type excuse).
Company communications plan and announcements are pre-drafted and endorsed for release by the BOD weeks in advance, this is not a coincidence (Oops we forgot about public holiday!) and there is a much better reason as to why EUR chose to extend, we'll just got to wait and see for now.
