Assuming the rumour mill is correct and it is SQM, I fail to see the FIRB allowing control of a potential global top 10 lithium deposit fall into the hands of the Chilean's, given they seem to flirt with state control of their own resource sector. Just makes no sense. Covalent Lithium might work however. Interesting times, that's for sure.
