So Fred had about 4.5m shares when AKP became AKP. The price quickly popped to around $5 giving him roughly $20m of collateral to borrow against. If he used the shares as collateral for let's say a $5m loan (at 25% LTV) and chucked it into QQQ he'd be sitting on $75m by now. So it makes perfect sense he'd chip in a few $ now and then to keep the party going.
I'm not saying this is what he's done/doing but it's totally plausible
