My guess is maybe there is another offer and it's worse.

The reason for the suspension now and not waiting until the end of the month is either because they needed to release a prospectus by that date.

Or they were worried of a leak as short interest did increase

OR they are trading insolvent right now and even if there was another offer it is unlikely CYM has any funds to pay lawyers to look over it.

It is more likely that the original best offer has been revised and the second best offer now becomes the best offer.

I cannot imagine their lawyer would require payment up-front by cash. They probably have not yet received payment for their earlier invoices. I imagine they would be keen to help so they will get paid once CYM receives the funding. If CYM went into VA, they would have to wait in the creditors queue for their payment.
