Yep, a Trading halt can be maximum 2 trading sessions. If the company has not concluded the material announcement by the time the TH expires, either they ask for a suspension from quote (unlimited but they can commit to an announcement date) or the ASX would do it for them and will suspend the ticker with no future date until an announcement is made to ASXs satisfaction.
The BKT case is clearly the former and they’re just asking for an extra 2 days to conclude and release to market
