Why Banks will like this good debt (Coz its earning them money by interest and has potential to be paid back if given extension) convert into bad debt by calling it NOW when no body is in position to obtain credit and buy them at book value??
As stated key word "OFFER RIDICULOUS PRICES" why get them when they can easily get whole lot back just support them as Govts are supporting BANKS.
