Blind Freddy could see this would inevitably happen - but the board couldn't & was in denial . Now we'll see what Nifty & the Paterson leases are really worth . At least Renison gets to stand on it's own - after the disposal of Nifty - that is . It will still take someone with deep pockets & Nifty is compromised by it's poor performance so it could be seen as a potential liability & therefore only attract a lukewarm price . Still the deed is done & now MLX may have some options, as opposed to the previous situation of financially haemorrhaging . Some of the bigger boys will be interested in the Patterson leases - yes especially the Chinese . Yes the shorters will probably cover & lock in profits but I don't think there will be a rush to buy , but the share price should creep up .
