I think the concept of a heavy lifting, fly-by-wire, automatically computer controlled drone that runs on conventional fuel isn't so bad. The idea of sending up tens of automatic drones to collect people from burning buildings sits well with me. As with sending search and rescue drones to drop down into the canopy of a forest to pick up lost people also sits well too.
The problem is that MJP simply did not deliver a usable product on-time and on-budget.
There's plenty of uses for the MJP but the product is simply not saleable or ready for the market and now the company is on the bones of its backside.
