How about the likely fact that there was probably no time to draft and proofread emails because he was bouncing between meetings and flights. Let alone send the draft to colleagues for a review before the release and final CEO sign-off on the announcement.
I feel like the frustrations on here are boiling over into just rampant unsubstantiated speculation.

I would not want to be writing a company sensitive release in full view of other people on a flight who could leak news. Business class is hardly private.
This could be the announcement we have all be waiting patiently for.. Or maybe he knows that their past releases have been full of typos and he wants to get the company making one spot on!
