I don’t begrudge the money they are spending at all. Making sure everyone is across responsible lending is fairly important given the current actions. Too many businesses neglect cybersecurity- it’s not just the reputational damage that companies like Optus and Latitude suffered - there were also real expenses incurred in bringing in specialists to sort it out, remediation and replacement of identity documents, class actions and government action.
