Thanks for the update on the uncertainy as to the wording of the original announcement.
From my perspective it:
- raises questions about the motives of the strike organisers. Are they actually concerned that the employees stood down may be let go after CV-19 abates, or are there motives more political/strategic than that?
- It shows that JW actually gives a shit about protecting his staff and business from CV-19, unless he is actually intending to let the stood down employees go post CV-19
At any rate, considering they are on full pay, it should be a relatively simple situation to navigate out of. Hopefully, if it is non disruptive, annual guidance is reinstated.
I have noticed lately a more conservative narrative style in RSG's reporting. It does seem JW has stopped over promising things that cannot be delivered. Lately now the reporting seems to have changed to an under promis, over deliver style, which I think is preferable as it skews suprises to the upside rather than the downside.
