Looked into synthetic bone substitutes in more depth.
Several types...All are biocompaible , allow new bone growth & eventually "disappear".
BUT..... They all lack one vital feature...strength ...Hence their traditional use in non weight bearing applications like dental/faciomaxillary procedures....They are of little use in weight bearing skeleton.....This is the Holy Grail....A bone substitute that is as strong as bone autografts or allografts
sr-HT Gahnite may be the Holy Grail....Strength....100 times stronger than other traditional synthetic bone grafts.
It has been tried with success in rabbit's radius.
This is a game changer.
