I agree with your musings.
Can I add that sentiment is stronger at the speculative end. For the last few years investors (especially longer term) have become more conservative and less speculative. Meaning the boxes have to be ticked first and not speculated that they will be ticked.
What does this mean for speculative stocks like PSF? Well, IMO, it means long periods of sideways price movement or drifting lower prices between announcements. It also provides speculative investors more time to get on board. It also provides short term traders with a shorter trading window on announcements.
