Syntonic Ltd (ASX:SYT) has partnered with AKTAY A.S. for the distribution of its “Freeway Overpass” mobile data services in Turkey.
Freeway Overpass is a cross-carrier, over-the-top (OTT) subscription service that offers unlimited mobile access for popular mobile content and applications.
Seattle based Syntonic offers sponsored data to mobile subscribers by letting content providers pay for data on behalf of customers.
Aktay is a value-added telecommunications service provider in Turkey, which is home to the 2nd largest smartphone market in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Turkish company has already partnered with leading regional carriers like Turkcell and Vodafone Turkey, thereby having access to 75% of the market.
The mobile market in Turkey is highly appealing to Syntonic as 73% of the Freeway Overpass target demographic of 18 - 34 year-olds own a smartphone capable of supporting the Freeway service.
Aktay will be responsible for local carrier integration, customer support, consumer marketing, and local content procurement to rapidly build out a scalable and recurring Freeway business in Turkey.
Earlier this year, Syntonic had launched its Freeway Overpass on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The service saves consumers’ money by giving them the flexibility to choose unlimited access for specific apps and content.
