The shares don't have to be placed to the shorters. The shorters can buy the new 55c shares from the new institutional investors for a small premium and everyone's happy. They saw the requirement for capital and took advantage. Unfortunately SV couldn't secure the US loan before requiring more capital. Question is...is the US going to approve a large loan to a company that has no means to pay it back under the current market conditions? Who knows what the graphite market is going to be like in the future. China could open exports again and smash the market with synthetic until SYR breaks.
