    The qualification process is basically a test run. Here is your product, put it into whatever you happen to be wanting to use it for and test the hell out of it so you know how it performs and why.
    The product from Vidalia will be incorporated into batteries and then they will test for recharge capabilities, how it holds the charge and who knows what else they test these things for.
    Presumably they will do it will other components they already have tested so they can look at individual components, like Vidalia active anode, and get an idea as to whether it performs better, worse or the same as a similar product.
    There won't be any immediate approval. It will be several months.
    Thats why with the few graphite it takes years. Has to go through several processes just to get the final product before it can be tested.

    Think about it this way.
    Here is a new battery to run you car. When you release your car you have to say how far it will run at what output, how long to charge etc.
    If it doesn't perform as expected, especially in the US, the law suits begin!!
    How many times and for how long do you want to test it.
