I'm confident of him being blindsided. Can't say why here but have had two independent sources that indicate that this is the case. This is an important factor in my decision making in that it differentiates between a blazer single ego take-over vs a conspiracy via all directors. I'm confident that this is not a choreographed event by all of the directors.
