re: Ann: Takeover of Sth Australian Coal Ltd/... Okay, my minig costs may be too low, but on the other hand the estimated coal price of US$ 90/t is quite conservative, as it's not only below current price level but WEC expects to sell their briquetts with a premium over bituminous coal due to the benefits.
But even if you assume a coal price of US$ 90/t and add another US$ 10/t to the mining costs the SAC-project will amortize after only 24 instead of 20 months and the yearly earnings from this operation will amount to US$ 500m instead of US$ 600m afterwards.
We are talking about a return on capital of more than 50%-60%! That are fantastic figures in my eyes. Not to mention what will happen if Goldman Sachs JBWere's recent predictions of the coal price climbing to US$ 160/t come true.
What I'm trying to say is, that the uncertainty of SAC's coal quantities is not relevant. Even with the proven reserves the SAC-project and WEC will sky-rocket!
