I've had many a good, and long term experiences with Brokers. Pre-IPO., IPO., and in an advisory capacity. As a Soph, and as a recipient.

For a Capital Raise, they're your conduit to the Fund Managers.

From a trading perspective. A full service Broker is the only way to go in my opinion. Building a long term rapport is priceless. Personally I trade less than 10% of my portfolio value online. Just enough to keep me amused.
