You are precisely correct.
Rob Telson has done this before. He knows what the value of the IP is and what the cost of the 2 devices need to be.
From past engineering experience, this cost is negligible based on the upside the customer can gain, and not forgetting the support that comes with it.
I'd rather listen to Rob, than a downramping muppet!
