The provision of engineering support meant that Brainchip had to restrict numbers of EAP’s it could take on at that time.

Since then they have turned themselves inside out to build the MetaTF to reduce the amount of engineering support required by customers.

They have been receiving feedback from the likes of @uiux and others about how easy or not it is and have been constantly working to make it as simple as humanly possible to reduce and hopefully eliminate entirely the need for engineering support.

Why because at the time when they could only service a maximum of about two dozen EAP customers they had last year well north of 100 NDA clients.

These new commercial products just released at $5,000 and $10,000 include in the price ten to twenty hours of engineering support if needed.

They are aimed at their commercial customers and are five and ten times cheaper than the original cost of entering the EAP program.

We all know the cost of new technology comes down over time and as the world becomes educated as @unix and others have and further improvements are made to MetaTF the costs of providing ten to twenty hours of engineering support will also disappear and become a help line.

Eliminating ten and twenty hours of engineering support at $150.00 knocks $1,500 and $3,000 off the cost of these two products as an example. Someone who is an engineer like @BarrelSitter might be able to put a number on this from an industry perspective.

Great post FF, sums up their strategy pretty well. With (currently) 50 on staff at BrainChip the scale with which they can supply support has been limited to the 15 EAPs. Now with the release of these devices, all encompassing with a bit of support thrown in, they can service a much wider audience in the commercial sector - those other 85+ NDAs. The hobbiests will get their turn down the track and I would imagine that when they do they could have access to much cheaper peripherals such as that which Majikeye has produced providing easier to use together configurations. The possibilities of being creative with this stuff is huge. To be cheap enough they would forgo engineering support and scale out to the millions of chips production which would bring down the price significantly - if that’s the direction they decide to take. Much will depend on a cult following being developed in the mean time. AIMO.
