I must admit, I don't understand the term "mandatory exit" either and as someone who also has an understanding of the industry and space they are in also has faith in their future (and was in disbelief at the profit warnings) so decided to, and would like to, hang on.
As to the legality of what they are doing... I'll bet they have documentation that could be presented to confirm the fact that at a certain point in time there were concerns about profitability going forwards. Whether those documents are correct or not is another issue but they'll have covered that base.
They, like you and I, know that the shareholders alone will not be sufficiently organized or financially capable of pursuing this anyway.
Doesn't mean that it doesn't smell rotten.
