You're all complaining about them putting a date in, but you'd all complain if they didn't as well. Would you have preferred an open ended MoU? Have y'all thought what that would mean, or can't you look past your impatience for a quick SP rise?
No date means ACC could waffle around, take ages responding to counter offers and negotiations, and maybe it would take 6 months to get anything done. And what do we do with 60kt per year of production for other customers? Makes it harder to know where our capacity sits.
The date in the MoU forces ACC to act with urgency and get something sorted ASAP. Yeah it sucks the SP hasn't doubled today, might have to wait a week or 2. It was a "work towards date" rather than a "finalised by" date. Would you prefer TLG to sign whatever ACC propose even if it meant a crap offer or we were left legally open?
I've seen terrible decisions made when people try to hit dates for no other reason than to hit the date.
