Whilst I agree with you, there is still a market in batteries and its something techos (or wanna be techos) like to hear about.
Were they trying to develop a battery themselves I think that would be a dilution of effort, but in terms of a marketing exercise... there's worse things they could be doing.
Ti batteries have there own draw backs... in the world of batteries its somewhat horses for courses... although so people think otherwise.
I hope the Ti battery market takes off.. but I'm not holding my breath on it at this stage
