The benefits strategic project designation gives of greater access to financing can't be understated. This is the derisking catalyst that will give institutional investors the confidence to jump in. Just look at EGR in the last month for what happens with a derisking event after retail investors have been worn down. Wouldn't be surprise to see a run like this with what's upcoming.
On financing - if this will come with greater access to EIB financing, I wonder whether they can increase currently allocated €150m? It looks like an EIB loan can fall in the 4-5% interest rate range. Huge improvement on the 8-10% that could be expected for a project like this otherwise. Especially now going to an environment where EU rates will be falling (forecast for another reduction in April).
Permitting - 27 month time limit is ample time to get massive expansion plans underway while Vittangi is brought online.
