You are correct that exfoliation is not sufficient. The DFS mentions spheroidization of the graphite flakes.
I did not realize that Talga moved away from only a low-acid chemical purification (at least for now) to a more pH intensive (low and high) means of obtaining anode quality graphite. Thank you for that.
