Hi Helm, for some people that bought in a year ago from 1.40-1.60 US. At the 1.00US price, this represents a ~30% loss. I have been here for about 3 years, and have bought anywhere from .20-1.60 US. Some people might sell their high cost to capture the tax loss. Here in the US, you can re-purchase in >30 days. I prefer, as in this case, to add to my position and then sell my hi-cost shares after the 30 days for what ever it is…gain or loss. This way I am always “in” for my maximum position. If there is good news, my whole position benefits, and I trim for a minimum loss or a gain. This might be called micromanaging by some, daytrading for others, but there will always be some degree of tax loss selling for the “non-believers” and the uninformed. I own a stupidly large position and so I can play with 10-20% of it at any time. Not recommended by pros,…but I’m not one of them.
